The collecting of audition stories from alumni of the High School of Music and Art has been both surprising and gratifying. The work to date is on display at http://mycastletreasures.com/ma-audition-stories.html. Because of the impressive response to this request, its been determined that the next step is to place this information into book form. This way, alumni, their families and all friends of M&A can easily share and relive these precious memories.
I’m presently collecting alumni memories on the first few decades that M&A was in existence. This being said, audition stories from the 1940's, 1950's and the 1960's are being sought.
I’m seeking the answers to such questions as:
What prompted you to seek out M&A? What happened during the actual audition and how did you feel? How did you feel when you found out that you were accepted? I would also be appreciative of any related additional experiences or photographs that you may wish to add.
If you like, you can leave your story below or you can email it to me at [email protected].
If you'd prefer to schedule an individualized interview, please contact me at [email protected] and let's talk. I'm looking forward to adding your heart-warming story as a cornerstone of this even growing and shared project. M&A4ever. Lloyd A. Green

March 15th, 1966. My 15th birthday. It was the best birthday ever. I had just received my accceptance letter to M&A that day. I wanted to go to M&A for as long as I could remember. The audition process consisted of submitting a portfolio, which was reviewed right in front of you. I recall sitting at a long table with others, drawing a still life or perhaps a figure. I believe we had to do three different drawings during the audition. I received a great education at M&A. Proud to be an alumni.
