Even though "The Castle on the Hill" was built in the 1920s, it did not obtain landmark status until June 1997.
As the Landmarks Preservation Commission were deciding the future of the Castle, they also laid out the building's long and glorious history. In all its splendid detail, here you will find everything you ever wanted to know about the existence of the Castle from beginning to end.
(Throughout the article are seldom seen shots of the Castle by photographer Carl Forster).
