Why not share your memories of those exciting moments as part of a new book.

Thank you to those who have submitted their stories.
Audition stories from Performing Arts Alumni
are still being accepted for publication.

Check out the previous post and other  Audition Stories books already in print.

The Plan:
I'm presently requesting your audition memories for the decades that the School of Performing Arts was in existence (the 1940s through the 1980s).

I'm seeking the answers to such questions as:
  •  What prompted you to seek out PA? (give some personal background)
  •  What happened during the actual audition, and how did you feel?
  •  How did you feel when you found out that you were accepted?

I would also appreciate any related additional experiences or photographs you may wish to add, but that's optional.

Finished product:

The following is an example of how your story will appear once printed in the book (example thanks to David Steven Simon - PA '70).

Like my two previous books on Amazon, the new PA book would be available for online purchase in paperback and Kindle format.

**A Little History:

Yes. I am a proud graduate of M&A ('71). For years, I've collected historical events, alumni photos and videos, and reunion-related materials. I created a website (My Castle Treasures) as a convenient place to locate precious memories from the almost fifty years of M&A's existence and beyond.
I found that even though I'm an art student, those who applied at M&A, who play instruments or who are voice students had amazingly similar stories to share about the nervousness and excitement of the audition day. I'm increasingly in touch with the Alumni & Friends staff at the LaGuardia school and I planned to put out a call to all alumni from LaGuardia. I decided to first put the request out to Performing Arts alumni because it was once Music & Art's sister school.
In terms of why an M&A grad is requesting stories from PA graduates, that's simple. Whether you are a student of drama, dance, voice, art, or those talented at playing instruments, all hopes and dreams come from the heart. Overall, it's a lot more about the fascinating individual story of the student than the particular school.
Like my two previous books on Amazon, the new PA book would be available for online purchase in paperback and Kindle format.

In my quest to keep our sweet memories alive, it makes perfect sense to include the stories of Performing Arts and, soon, those of LaGuardia.
